Cape Town - Treasury has confirmed that Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan was contacted by the Hawks, reported EWN.
Treasury spokesperson Phumza Macanda told the radio station that Gordhan received correspondence from the Hawks on Monday.
She could not comment on the matter at this stage, adding that Gordhan is seeking legal advice.

Daily Maverick broke the news on Tuesday evening that Gordhan was summoned to "present" himself to the Hawks by 10am on Thursday.

This relates to allegations of a rogue tax unit that was formed in 2007 when Gordhan was the commissioner of the South African Revenue Service (Sars).
Former Sars deputy commissioner Ivan Pillay, group executive Johann van Loggerenberg and initial head of the investigative unit, Andries van Rensburg were also asked to report to the Hawks.
Ahead of his crucial budget speech in February, the Hawks sent a letter with 27 question to Gordhan about the alleged rogue unit at Sars.
