Window washers removed from Joburg intersections

Johannesburg - Johannesburg metro police on Tuesday removed 19 window washers and street traders from busy intersections around the city.

They were removed from roads including the M1 Empire Road off-ramp, the M2 Main Reef Road off-ramp, and the intersection of Main Reef and Press roads, Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said.

The operation was launched on February 11 in an attempt to clear hot spots of people who ignored bylaws.
