Johannesburg - Fourteen shop stewards have been dismissed at Sun City near Rustenburg, says Sun International.
"After following due process, 14 shop stewards at Sun City complex had been dismissed," spokesperson Tamra Veley said on Thursday.
She said the shop stewards concerned had chosen not to attend an independent disciplinary inquiry into misconduct.
The hearing recommended they be dismissed.
The Congress of SA Trade Unions said the shop stewards were fired for raising ill-treatment and exposing racism at Sun City.
Moses Kotane branch secretary Madito Molebalwa said workers would strike to demand their re-instatement.
A march was planned for 30 August to demand their re-instatement and implementation of all outstanding agreements reached between Cosatu and Sun City.
