Cape Town - Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown has avoided commenting directly on the suspensions of the chief executive officer and three others by the Eskom board on Thursday but said in a statement that she had expressed concerns about the “state of affairs” at the state-owned company.
Brown said she had addressed the Eskom board on Wednesday “sharing my concerns, fears and frustration about the state of affairs of the state-owned company”.
Eskom’s chairperson Zola Tsotsi announced that recently appointed Eskom CEO Tshediso Matona and three others had been suspended to allow for an inquiry into the operations of the utility.
