Johannesburg - South Africa's net gold and foreign exchange reserves dipped to $44.24bn in August, from $44.315bn in July, data from the Reserve Bank showed on Friday.
Gross reserves were also lower at $49.767bn, while the forward position, which represents the central bank's unsettled or swap transactions, fell to $2.938bn.
