WORLD Energy Council (WEC) chairperson Marie-Jose Nadeau welcomed delegates to the Africa Energy Indaba on Tuesday with an anecdote that was a welcome breath of fresh air following the bitter taste left by the State of the Nation address (Sona) last week and the general unrest over load shedding.
She was walking down the street in Sandton over the weekend when a taxi pulled up alongside her. “Would you like a lift,” asked the taxi driver.
“No thanks, I am not walking far and I also don’t think it would be fair, because I have no cash on me to pay,” the French speaking Canadian replied.
