Washington - The world economy is continuing to recover slowly from the 2008 financial crisis, International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde said Thursday in Washington.
"The global outlook remains still to this day subdued," she said. "In many of the advanced economies, we are seeing signs of hope. Growth is looking up, financial stability is returning, and fiscal accounts are looking healthier."
Ahead of next week's meetings of IMF board members, the Washington-based crisis lender is due to issue its twice-annual World Economic Outlook on Tuesday.
