Eskom says it does not expect to have to implement load shedding on Monday, as the power system continues to be "resilient".
This comes after the national power utility did not cut power over the weekend.
In a power update on Sunday evening Eskom said that while the power system is constrained, available generation capacity continues to be supplemented by some of its emergency generators.
"These emergency generators, namely the pumped storage schemes and the open cycle gas turbines, will be replenished to ensure that they are at adequate levels to meet the demand for the work week ahead," it said in a statement.
Eskom said unplanned outages or breakdowns were at 11 962MW on Sunday afternoon, still above the utility's goal of 9 500MW.
"We are monitoring the system closely and we will continue to give periodic updates on the status of the power system as things may change overnight. We ask customers to continue to use electricity wisely throughout the day and night," it said.
