Cape Town - Cosatu in the Western Cape has threatened to invade premises around Cape Town stadium for its May Day rally, the SABC reported on Monday.
According to the SABC report Western Cape provincial secretary Tony Ehrenreich said the City of Cape Town is quoting the union an additional R1m to the R800 000 hiring agreed to earlier this month.
Ehrenreich said Cosatu viewed the move as an attempt by the City to deny poor families an opportunity to visit the World Cup stadium.
He said a meeting was scheduled for Tuesday for a decision on whether to move the rally to Athlone stadium.
