Building plans lift Sarb business indicator

Johannesburg - The South African Reserve Bank's leading business cycle indicator rose 0.3% month-on-month in January, lifted by higher residential building plans passed and an increase in the dollar-based export commodity price index.

The indicator collates data including vehicle sales, job advertisements, business confidence and money supply to gauge the economic outlook.
