I have defaulted in paying an ABSA credit card which is currently at an outstanding balance of R16000, it was handed over to Newton Attorneys some time last year. I was called by one of the consultants and she explained if i do not pay the minimum installment by the end of February I will be blacklisted for the next 30 years, even if i paid up before the 30 years, i will still be denied credit for the next 30 years. How true is this?

Good day Bontle,
period for default or consent judgment granted in court in favour of the plaintiff
is 30 years but you cannot be listed at the credit bureau for 30 years.
is entirely up to your potential credit grantors.
Please accept my sincere apology for delayed
Thank you for this question
