The Amdec Group recently announced the official opening of the AC Hotel Cape Town Waterfront at The Yacht Club, its newly completed development in the Mother City.
The 188-room establishment is the first AC Hotel by Marriott in Africa.
The Yacht Club is located within the Roggebaai Canal precinct just outside the V&A Waterfront. It comprises 170 luxury residential apartments, 6 307m² of prime office space, and the AC Hotel Cape Town Waterfront.
"We are proud to pave the way for Marriott International's growth plans in Africa," stated James Wilson, CEO of the Amdec Group.
"The Yacht Club is the second in our portfolio of iconic precincts to welcome Marriott, with Melrose Arch in Johannesburg being the first, and Harbour Arch in Cape Town, to follow."
Guests have access to the signature AC Lounge, the AC Market for food offerings, the AC Library, a fully-equipped fitness centre, and 2 50m² of event space, including meeting rooms and a boardroom.
"We are delighted to open our very first AC Hotel by Marriott in Middle East and Africa in Cape Town, further strengthening our long-standing partnership with the Amdec Group," said Alex Kyriakidis, president and managing director Middle East and Africa for Marriott International.
"The opening of this hotel reinforces our commitment to driving growth for our lifestyle brands in South Africa."
In 2016, the Amdec Group announced that it would inject R3bn into the development of five new hotels in an ongoing partnership with Marriott International – one at The Yacht Club in Cape Town, two at Melrose Arch and a further two at the Harbour Arch inner-city development in Cape Town.
