Cape Town - Woolworths [JSE:WHL] has appointed Scott Fyfe as the new CEO of its subsidiary Country Road Group in Australia. He will replace Matt Keogh who held the position since 2014.
Woolworths said Keogh will pursue new career opportunities after an 11-year stint at Woolworths Group.
Woolworths CEO Ian Moir said Fyfe had an extensive history in the retail industry with 20 years of experience in leadership roles in British retailer Marks and Spencer, ranging in different positions spanning buying, merchandising and sourcing.
He will take over his new role in early 2017, while in the meantime working with Moir and the executive team.
Moir thanked Keogh for his "significant contribution across the Group in Australia and South Africa over the past 11 years", and said he looked forward to Fyfe's contribution. "Scott’s background takes in the full spectrum of operations within a large scale and I look forward to his contribution.”
Fyfe said it is "a dynamic time to be in retail" and he looks forward to the challenge ahead and living in Melbourne with his family.
