Woolworths appoints CEO for Australasia

Johannesburg - Woolworths [JSE:WHL] advised shareholders that John Dixon, currently CEO of David Jones, will assume the role of CEO for WHL Australasia, with effect from September 1 2017.

WHL Australasia encompasses the restructured business of David Jones and Country Road Group in Australia and New Zealand. The board is pleased to announce that Dixon has now been appointed as an executive director of the company with effect from May 18 2017.

Dixon joined the group in January 2016 as CEO of David Jones and was previously employed by Marks & Spencer where he started his career in 1986.
He joined the M&S Board in 2009 as director of foods and led the turnaround of the food business before his appointment as director of general merchandise within the clothing and home business.
