Johannesburg - Since its re-launch in South Africa last year, Italian luxury car manufacturer, Maserati has lost no time in establishing that it is here and open for business over the long-term.
Following the global release of Levante, the brand’s SUV, which it regards as ideally suited to the South African market, Maserati is set for expansion.
The inaugural Johannesburg showroom is operational and will be officially launched as a 2 200m² business premises with both the showroom and workshop on the same site.
This will make it the largest car showroom in the Southern Hemisphere.
The Cape Town showroom was opened in June this year and a Durban counterpart will be following shortly.
“The Southern African market for Maserati continues to be impressive,” says Brad Graaff, operations manager of European Automotive Imports - South Africa (EAI-SA), a subsidiary of Maserati’s Australian importer EAI.
“We will be finishing off 2016 with a strong order book, and our new dealerships in Cape Town and early next year in Durban too, complemented by full in-house servicing facilities, as well as our revised 2017 model range, will see an influx of new customers to the brand.”
Graaff adds that further enthusiasm for the brand will be achieved through a commitment as title sponsor of the Maserati Race Week and its partner sponsorship of the Cape2Rio Race, which will set sail from Cape Town on December 10 and culminate in Rio on January 4.
For the Middle East, India and Africa region, Maserati reported a 38% increase for the month of August compared to August 2015, pushed by the arrival of the Levante SUV.
