Cape Town - Rental office units form part of the offering in the new Touchstone House, located on the corner of Bree and Mechau Streets in one of Cape Town’s historic precincts.
Touchstone House is a mixed-use complex that is a rebuild of a historic site. The modern architecture incorporates the original façade, according to Guy Friedberg, commercial consultant for Seeff Atlantic Seaboard and City Bowl.
The ground floor offers a retail component with an interactive streetscape while floors 5 to 14 offer premium office space. There are also 8 parking levels, quite unusual in the city. The available units range in size from 140m² to 760m² with parking on a 3/100m² ratio basis.
Although the average rental rate is around R140/m² excluding VAT, Friedberg said that the rates vary depending on the size and what is on offer such as a balcony for example.
Tenants also have access to an entertainment area and cafeteria, located on the top floor.
Tenants already on board include a mix of small to medium sized enterprises, according to Friedberg. This includes the developers, FWJK Quantity Surveyors who occupy the top floor along with interior designers, IT companies such as Symfony Digital Solutions as well as Vivid Luxury, a communications agency that specialises in high end luxury brands.
