Royal Bafokeng Platinum has appointed a new Chief Financial Officer and executive director, the company announced on Thursday.
Hanré Rossouw will take over from October 1. He succeeds Martin Prinsloo, who resigned in April, having been in the position since March 2009.
Rossouw has an MBA from Oxford University and Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) as well as a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Economics, the mining company said in a stock exchange news announcement.
He has worked as a portfolio manager at Investec, covering precious metals and SA resource equities, and served as CFO of Xstrata Alloys, overseeing Xstrata plc's chrome and platinum interests in SA. His mining career began as a graduate engineer at Anglo American, and he later worked for De Beers and Accenture.
"The Board welcomes Mr Rossouw in his new role and looks forward to his contribution to the organisation," RBPlat said in a statement.
