Johannesburg – Letšeng Diamond Mine in Lesotho keeps producing massive diamonds.
Gem Diamonds, the British-headquartered diamond company which runs the mine, reported on Wednesday that it has recovered a 152 carat, top white colour type IIa diamond.
It is one of six diamonds over 100 carats discovered in 2018.
Gem Diamonds has owned Letšeng Diamond Mine for over ten years. The company also owns 100% of the Ghaghoo mine in Botswana.
Earlier this year Fin24 reported that Letšeng mine had produced the the fifth biggest diamond ever found, which weighed 910 carats.
The rare find was made in mid-January.
The company's shares [LON:GEMD] were trading up 0.73% on the day at 86 pence a share on the LSE at 12:15 on Wednesday.
