Transnet announced on Monday afternoon that it had appointed Thoba Majoka as acting chief officer for advanced manufacturing of Transnet engineering.
The appointment is effective immediately and will continue “until further notice”.
This comes after the state-owned rail and port company last week Thursday suspended Thamsanqa Jiyane as chief officer of advanced manufacturing of Transnet Engineering, and Lindiwe Mdletshe as the senior manager of strategic sourcing for Transnet Freight Rail last week.
In a statement, Transnet said Majoka had over 20 years of service and experience in rail operations at Transnet.
“Mr Majoka has managed a number of divisions within the advanced manufacturing function of the business also known as Transnet Engineering,” the statement read.
