Zurich - SWISS has recently celebrated the first flight with passengers of its new CS100 aircraft.
Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) is Switzerland's national airline, serving 102 destinations in 46 countries from Zurich and Geneva.
Over the course of two years - starting from mid-2016 - SWISS will be replacing its Avro fleet with the first of its new C Series generation by Bombardier.
The new aircraft types CS100 and CS300 are to replace the current Avro RJ100s.
According to SWISS, the new aircraft will also be used for future growth apart from replacing older aircraft.
SWISS, a member of the Star Alliance global airline network, said the state-of-the-art technology for the engines, systems and materials means that the Bombardier C Series aircraft set new standards for sustainability. This will have a positive economic impact too.
An order of 30 aircraft of this type was one of the main drivers behind the development, commencement of production and market launch of the new C Series fleet family by Bombardier.
