SA aviation group Comair has been officially recognised by the Top Employers Institute as a Top Employer 2019 for excellence in employee conditions.
The group operates under its low-fare airline brand, kulula.com, as well as under the British Airways livery, as part of a license agreement.
The Top Employers Institute Programme provides certified organisations with the ability to leverage their employer branding, benchmark their practices against other top performers and globally align their policies.
Organisations certified as Top Employers dedicate themselves to providing the very best working environment for employees through progressive "people-first" human resource practices. This global certification programme has certified and recognised more than 1 500 Top Employers in more than 118 countries across five continents.
Top Employers, therefore, are organisations that have worked hard to create, implement and progress their people strategies. They have strategic and thoughtful workplace programmes which create an environment that empowers and develops employees.
Comair CEO Erik Venter said Comair’s recently announced record profits could not have been accomplished without a team of the finest calibre.
“We’re proud to be certified as a Top Employer 2019 in SA and equally proud of our management team and our 2 100 employees who made this accolade happen,” said Venter.
* British Airways - operated by Comair - has recently been recognised as the top airline in the Airline Industry Category at the recent 17th annual Ask Africa Orange Index awards ceremony.
The awards cover over 31 industries and 168 companies. Its extensive sample size of 15 000 interviews is regarded as providing a reliable yardstick for customer service benchmarking and social profiling.
