Johannesburg - Eskom is experiencing problems with its
online vending system and selling electricity pre-paid vouchers, the power
utility said on Friday.
"The system is slow and will have to be shut down for
close to two hours from 10am this morning," said the power utility.
"We regret the inconvenience and apologise to our
customers, as well as vendors."
The company said it was putting remedial measures in place
and hoped to get its online vending system back to normal as soon as possible.
It said high level resources and expertise had been deployed
to upgrade and improve the performance of the system, which had been
experiencing challenges in recent months.
Eskom's online vending system supplies electricity tokens to over four million pre-paid customers through six national vendors and about 10 000 outlets countrywide.
