Johannesburg - Astrapak [JSE:APK] plastic packaging company has
appointed Robin Moore group CEO effective from November 5, it said on Friday.
Moore had worked for packaging company Nampak since 1985 in
various senior capacities, the company said.
In his early years at Nampak he was involved in the Liquid
Packaging and Tufbag operations before transferring to the United Kingdom to
manage BlowMocan - Nampak's original UK acquisition in 1995.
Between 1995 and 2002, and following Nampak's acquisition of
Plysu PLC, Moore managed the Liquid Plastics Division and established it as the
leading producer of Plastic Milk Bottles in the UK.
This culminated in him being managing director of Nampak
Plastics Europe Limited until he returned to South Africa in 2004.
Since then, he had been managing director of the Nampak
Flexible Cluster, where he was involved in restructuring its various
operations.
Astrapak director Paul Botha said in a statement:
"Robin's extensive packaging experience, both local and international,
will be of great value to Astrapak and his knowledge within specifically the
flexible industry will be invaluable in rectifying the under-performance in
recent years from the Astrapak Flexible Division."
The company also announced the appointment of Manley Diedloff, who had been acting CEO, as group managing director.
