Johannesburg - African Oxygen [JSE:AFX] (Afrox) advised shareholders on Thursday that it
has signed a five-year contract with Exxaro FerroAlloys [JSE:EXX], which at full
capacity will be worth R147m, for the supply of nitrogen to its plant in
West Pretoria.
Afrox will also be investing in upgrading its distribution pipeline to meet the demand from the Exxaro plant.
"This represents one of the largest nitrogen supply contracts in Afrox," said Afrox managing director Brett Kimber.
"We are delighted Exxaro is partnering with Afrox for their expansion plans and this contract underscores the renewed reliability of our plants, now running at 99%, nationally, and justifies the R193m investment in the 200-tonne-per-day Pretoria ASU.
