Johannesburg - Afrox [JSE:AFX] has advised shareholders that it has signed a five-year R55m contract to supply bulk and cylinder liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to South African hotel chain Sun International [JSE:SUI].
The contract will run until 2019.
"Securing this major agreement against strong competition can be attributed to our excellent track record, national footprint and ability to access product, be it from local refineries or importing LPG during shortages," said Afrox managing director Brett Kimber.
"This contract is significant to Afrox and our LPG business in general, as Sun International is one of the largest operators of hotels and casinos in South Africa. To be associated with this prestigious company as a preferred supplier is of strategic importance in growing our hospitality business in this important and expanding sector."
