Zunaid Bulbulia quits Huge Group

Telecommunications company Huge Group [JSE:HUG] on Monday announced the resignation of its director and Chief Financial Officer Zunaid Bulbulia after three years of service.

His resignation will take effect from December 31, 2018. Bulbulia is also an adjunct professor at the Wits Business School and an advisory board member to the Gauteng Division of FNB Islamic Bank.

"Huge’s growth trajectory necessitates the services of a dedicated and full time chief financial officer. For this reason, the company and Zunaid have agreed on a change in his relationship from employee to consultant," the company said in a statement.

Bulbulia was one of the founding members of mobile network MTN, he became chief financial officer for the mobile network’s South African operations in 2005 and chief executive officer in 2013.

He will now be joining a private investment holding company in the telecoms sector, according to the statement.

The company said it has identified a number of suitable candidates for the post of chief financial officer and has been "engaging actively with one candidate".
