Tesla shares plunged on Friday in the first session since US securities regulators sued chief Elon Musk for fraud, with the company shedding nearly 12% as US stocks opened slightly lower.
About four minutes into trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.2% at 26 398.51.
The broad-based S&P 500 shed 0.1% to 2 910.05, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index declined 0.1% to 8 032.65.
