IT veteran Len Pienaar has been named Media24's new CEO of digital, the group announced in a statement to staff on Wednesday.
He will also be on the Media24 exco team.
Pienaar, a mechanical engineer by training, has an honours degree in business administration. He is currently the CEO of FNB Connect.
He has worked across multiple sectors throughout his career, having started at Sasol in 1992. He has also held management positions at Cell C and at MTN - at the latter, he was involved in MTN ICE, one of the first mobile portals in Africa.
Pienaar spent five years in the venture capital sector as Clickatell's executive vice president of product and marketing (worldwide). He was also previously chief commercial officer at Regis Management.
"Len brings the rare combination of engineering, commercial and leadership skills that we need to develop and grow our digital business as we continue to transition the company and build sustainability for a future that is increasingly digital," said Media24 CEO Ishmet Davidson.
Pienaar said he is "excited" about contributing to Media24's journey towards digital transformation.
