accreditation

Barcelona - Chinese tech company Lenovo will be placing greater emphasis on its new core strategy of Augmented Intelligence in its laptops and smartphones as it launches two new notebooks.

The company announced the new Yoga 730 in 13 inch and 15 inch models and 14 inch Yoga 530, the latest additions to its 2-in-1 notebooks at the world’s biggest mobile conference - Mobile World Congress - currently being held in Barcelona, Spain.

The Windows 10-based convertible devices will make use of AI to give users a hands-free intelligent assistance with both Microsoft’s Cortana and Amazon’s Alexa built in, to recognise voice commands from across a room.

Deeply rooted in the PC space, Lenovo will now place a focus on data, computing power and algorithm and through AR, VR and voice-activated technologies, saying that it hopes to make critical human connections to AI from devices to data centres.

After giving life to the Motorola brand after its four-year break, Lenovo breathed life into the iconic phone company by launching the Moto Z device.

At MWC, the company showcased the Motorola Health Mod which allows users to measure five vital signs including systolic and diastolic blood pressure, through the Moto Z smartphone.

The Moto Z was launched in 2016 with a 5.5 inch display and a Snapdragon 820 processor.

The smartphone also offers a range of Moto Mod add-ons such as the Motorola Health Mod which can be clipped on to the back of the device.

With major tech companies and telecommunications networks making a bigger push toward 5G, the company also sees its Data Centre Group expanding into two new segments in Telecommunications and IoT.
