Johannesburg – International ICT solutions and services group Datatec Limited [JSE: DTC] has appointed a new director to join the company from June 01, 2018.
Ekta Singh-Bushell will join Datatec as an independent non-executive director, the group announced on Thursday. She will also be a member of the Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee and Social and Ethics Committee.
She has served on public and private corporate boards, including as COO of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and previously had a 17-year career in senior managing partner roles with EY. These included as US Innovation and Digital Strategy Leader, Northeast Advisory People Leader and Chief Information Security Officer.
She has led transformations across multiple industries impacted by digital technology and information management advances, the group said.
Her experience would bring “diverse global management expertise in financial, digital technology, cyber security and risk operations”, the group said.
A certified Public Accountant (USA) Singh-Bushell has a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkley, and a Bacherlor of Engineering degree from the University of Poona, India.
Besides her new position at Datatec, Singh-Bushel is a Member of the Board of Directors and of the Audit Committee of TTEC (NASDAQ:TTEC), a global CX services leader, and acts for DecisionGPS LLC and LifeStream [Taxonometrics] as Strategic Board Advisor.
Chairman of the Board, Stephen Davidson, said: "She (Singh-Bushell) will bring a great deal of valuable experience to Datatec from her exceptional career in the management and governance of technology."
Datatec Limited shares are trading at R22.07 per share, up 1.24% on Friday morning at 9:24.
