Comic Con Africa ticket sales now open

Johannesburg - Tickets to Africa’s first Comic Con to be held in Johannesburg go on sale on Friday. 

Comic Con Africa will take place at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit and International Convention Centre from September 14 to 18 2018. 

The conference, based on the international event of the same name, is expected to showcase comic books and science fiction/fantasy related films, series and similar popular arts. 

VS Gaming, Reed Exhibitions Africa and ReedPOP, who are hosting the event, announced that the first phase of tickets for Comic Con Africa will be available through Computicket from 09:00 on Friday March 9.

A limited number of tickets will be available, and sales will remain open until these tickets are sold out.

The breakdown is as follows:

FRIDAY - General admission 1 day (launch) – R120.00

SATURDAY - General admission 1 day (launch) – R120.00

SUNDAY - General admission 1 day (launch) – R120.00

General admission for the three days – R300.00

Once phase one has been sold out, phase two tickets will go on sale. The breakdown is as follows:

FRIDAY - General admission 1 day (launch) – R150.00

SATURDAY - General admission 1 day (launch) – R150.00

SUNDAY - General admission 1 day (launch) – R150.00

General admission for the three days – R350.00

Tickets exclude additional add-ons such as autograph or panel sessions, which will be made available once the talent and guest line-up is confirmed. 

Organisers said hospitality and VIP packages will also be made available at a later stage. 

Comic Con Africa was officially announced on February 20 at an event which was attended by Connie Chiume and Dr John Kani, stars of the blockbuster superhero movie Black Panther.

During the event organisers said they expect celebrities to attend the African event, and negotiations are taking place with stars of TV series Game of Thrones and The Big Bang Theory.
