Johannesburg - The SABC welcomed its five new interim board members on Wednesday, and pledged its support for them.
"The management and staff of the SABC welcome the new board and we have full confidence that they will continue to guide the organisation as we prepare for digital migration, as well as ensuring that the financial stability of the corporation continues," said SABC group CEO Lulama Mokhobo.
"The new interim board has a blend of skills and experience across a wide range of industries that will no doubt serve the corporation well, as they play an oversight and guidance role in our operations" she said.
"We wish the interim board members every success during their tenure and we also pledge our undivided support to them."
On Tuesday, President Jacob Zuma approved the interim board, which was installed after the resignations of most of the previous board in March and its eventual dissolution by a resolution in Parliament.
Their departures came after a reported clash between previous chairperson Ben Ngubane and the board over the tenure of previous acting chief operating officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng.
The interim board comprises chairperson Ellen Zandile Tshabalala, her deputy Noluthando Gosa, economist Iraj Abedian, former public service commission member Vusumzi Mavuso, and chartered accountant Ronnie Lubisi.
In the statement, the previous board was also thanked for its work.
The interim board will be in place for six months.
