Sygnia appoints new joint CEO to serve alongside Magda Wierzycka

Financial services group Sygnia announced on Friday that David Hufton has been appointed as its Joint Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect.

Hufton will share the role of CEO with Magda Wierzycka.

In a short update to shareholders, Sygnia said that the "strategic initiatives and operational responsibilities of the company have been clearly assigned between the joint CEOs and between the Company’s two main centres of operation in South Africa and the United Kingdom."

Hufton was previously the group's deputy CEO.

The group's board said it was "confident that the Joint CEOs will steer Sygnia through these turbulent times and beyond".
