Cape Town - A high court judge on Tuesday postponed an urgent bail application by former Fidentia boss J Arthur Brown.
Fin24's sister website, Netwerk24 reported that Adv. John Louw, Brown's legal representative, submitted the application to Western Cape High Court Judge Thandazwa Ndita.
However, it was delayed to January 15 next year.
The application was filed pending brown's application for leave to appeal against his sentence of 15 years in jail on two fraud charges that was handed down by the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA).
Brown was convicted relating to his handling of investments for the Transport Education and Training Authority and the Mantadia Asset Trust Company between 2002 and 2006.
The Western Cape High Court initially sentenced Brown to a R150 000 fine (R75 000 for each fraud charge) or a suspended jail term.
The sentence was then appealed by the National Prosecuting Authority.
