Johannesburg - Shares of Capitec Bank Holdings [JSE:CPI] surged more than 4% after the mass-market lender flagged that earnings for the year to end-February would rise by between 32% and 36%.
Capitec reported a 50% surge in diluted headline earnings per share to 1,099 cents in the year to end-February 2012, lifted by strong demand for loans.
Shares are up 4.35% at R193.99.
