Johannesburg - Some 2 000 workers at
the Sasko Grain unit of Pioneer Food Group [JSE:PFG] downed tools on
this week, the Food and Allied Workers Union said on Friday,
escalating nation-wide strikes in SA.
The workers are demanding a 9% increase in wages across the board while the company is offering 7.25%, the union said.
Sasko Grain manufactures and packs a broad range of grain-based staple foods such as wheaten flour, maize meal, rice, beans, lentils and other dried vegetables.
