Irate customers paying bills on the first day of the month took to Twitter to share their experiences, as the bank’s ATM, internet banking and POS ability stopped working.
@ratilwe said she was at the petrol station for almost an hour waiting. “They won't let me go cos my standard bank card is acting up.”

Standard Bank was quick to reply to Twitter comments, tweeting to each user: “Apologies for that, We're working hard to resolve this as soon as we can.”

Standard Bank spokesperson Ross Linstrom apologized on behalf of the bank to all customers impacted by the issue. “We are working fast to rectify the problem,” he told Fin24. “Looks like systems are coming up soon.”I can't go print my assignments.
