A Fin24 user wants to invest money over a long term. He writes:
I have R50 000 to invest over ten years. Which would be the best plan for me to invest in?
Gustav Potgieter CFP® of Aurum Trust responds.
You have indicated that you have a ten year investment horizon. This clears one of the main determinants in an investment plan.
Some of the others are: Your attitude towards risk, investment fees and fund choices.
A unit trust portfolio could be built around your needs.
I would suggest using a linked investment platform (Lisp). The Lisp offers fund choices, flexibility to switch between funds and most of the time a cheaper way of investing.
There are enough funds available, from conservative to aggressive to choose from.
I suggest you speak to an investment specialist, like a Certifief Financial Planner (CFP®) to help you make the appropriate decision.
