Satawu general-secretary Zenzo Mahlangu told eNCA earlier that the reason for his late members was not because of any dispute, but because the buses were running late. He had to phone the CEO of the bus company because it "was not mahala" (free).

One of them, identified by the others as the one in charge, reacted in a threatening manner when Netwerk24 tried to question him further. He told the Netwerk24 journalist Jan de Lange: "I will take you out."

Pro Vavi, Numsa unions apparently calling for 2nd deputy president Losi to leave the #CosatuSNC
News24's Genevieve Quintal: "Apparently discussions inside are about 2nd deputy president Losi and Limusa and whether they should be recognised." Fin24 earlier reported that one union called for Zingiswa Losi to resign from all Cosatu leadership positions.
WATCH: SABC's Vuyo Mvoko says the major delay at the Cosatu congress is because one union that was meant to be registered and likely in support of the current Cosatu leadership, had an internal issue, where members wanted to oppose the majority view. This is after Fin24's Terry Bell said earlier that the South African Transport and Allied Workers Union (SATAWU) failed to arrive on time, because of an alleged fractious meeting that went into the early hours of Monday morning.

Former Cope leader and ex-Gauteng premier Mbhazima Shilowa tweeted: "Could it be that Popcru (Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union) will be both a participant and provider of security at Cosatu congress?"

The removal of the media should be a wake-up call to all that #COSATU is now in the hands of a undemocratic, autocratic & reactionary group
News24 journalist Genevieve Quintal has found a way to see into the proceedings, after media were barred from the Cosatu congress. She wrote: "Through the glass I can see Saccawu (South Africa Commercial, Catering and Allied Workers Union) shouting and raising their hands and board. Fawu also raising it's board. Cosatu President Sdumo Dlamini has now stood up and is addressing delegates, but I can't hear what he's saying from outside."

WATCH: Jacaranda journalist Maryke Vermaak posted this video title: Cosatu Confusion over a delegate who was brought outside. "The man said he was from Satawu and his accreditation was ripped up by security - we just saw him outside arguing with security, complaining that they can't handle things this way.He was later taken back in."

News24's Genevieve Quintal: For the first time media have been barred from sitting in a Cosatu congress
while issues of credentials are discussed.
In the past media have been allowed to cover a Cosatu Congress in its entirety
even when sensitive issues were discussed.
Fin24's Terry Bell says that the reason why Cosatu's congress has been delayed is due to one union that has failed to arrive on time. He said the South African Transport and Allied Workers Union (SATAWU) failed to arrive on time, because of an alleged fractious meeting that went into the early hours of Monday morning. Satawu once headed up calls to suspend Cosatu secretary general Zwelinzima Vavi for having sex with a subordinate.

ANC treasurer general Zweli Mkhize: "We hoping that the division, the discussions will... be able to pull everyone together. We think it is possible for consensus to be reached so that Cosatu is rebuilt and made stronger."
Mkhize: "All we saying is that the ANC task team remains available to give support to the extent to which we can help Cosatu rebuild itself and unite."
13 Jul 2015
Mkhize: The ANC task team, which was appointed last year, to help Cosatu sort out its issues will help, but it had a limit of how far it could go. Cosatu had its own constitution and was autonomous. A lot of issues in relation to disciplinary issues, expulsions and so on are all in the constitution of Cosatu so as the ANC we respect that space.
13 Jul 2015
Mkhize: "As the ANC, we not a neutral party, we are a pro-Cosatu party. We are a partner... so we will always be on the side of Cosatu, but we will give Cosatu its space to resolve its internal issues."
13 Jul 2015
"We believe that the challenges facing Cosatu are real, they are serious, they are complex, but they need the members of Cosatu, its affiliates, to help resolve them and we believe this is the best platform," ANC treasurer general Zweli Mkhize told News24's Genevieve Quintal.
Terry Bell: The senior uniformed police officer watching from the back of the hall, seemed amused as the chanting, singing groups passed by. He noted that they were “good humoured”, but he admitted that “if they get out of hand” he had “50 officers at the back”.
13 Jul 2015
Terry Bell: Almost equal numbers of delegates from “loyalist” and “dissident” unions maintained a steady chorus of songs as a large section of seating in the centre of the hall remained empty.
13 Jul 2015
Fin24 Inside Labour columnist Terry Bell is at the congress. He wrote: There was plentiful evidence at the delayed Cosatu special congress at the Gallagher Estate in Midrand that, despite claims to the contrary, Cosatu unions are split, several of them right down the middle.
