Troy Hunt, founder of the free service Have I Been Pwned, which aggregates data breaches and initially revealed the SA leak, uploaded the compromised email addresses to the website. They can be found here.

FBI probes US links to Guptas, UK urged to probe banks - reports

The FBI has opened an investigation into US links to the Guptas, while the UK has asked financial enforcement agencies to probe possible ties between HSBC and Standard Chartered to South Africa’s Gupta family, the Financial Times reported.

The FBI is using information from the #GuptaLeaks emails.

The probe focuses on US citizens Ashish and Amol Gupta, nephews of Atul and Ajay Gupta. The nephews have a company which received payments from a Dubai-based, SA Gupta-linked company, the FT said, quoting people familiar with the matter.

Myeni is replaced by Johannes Bhekumuzi "JB" Magwaza as the new chairperson, and Nolitha Fakude is the new deputy chairperson and non-executive director, replacing Tryphosa Ramano.

New Energy Minister Mahlobo's first words on his nuclear vision for SA

Incoming Energy Minister David Mahlobo has highlighted his vision for South Africa’s nuclear energy future, following the approval for Eskom to develop 4GW of new power stations near Koeberg last week.

Critics and opposition parties have warned that Mahlobo’s appointment could be an attempt by Zuma to push through the nuclear deal, as the president’s leadership position hangs in the balance ahead of the ANC’s elective conference in December.

Royal Bafokeng said to end contract with Gupta-linked firm

Royal Bafokeng Platinum will terminate a contract with a company linked to the politically-connected Gupta family, according to two people familiar with the decision.

The Johannesburg-based miner won’t renew a contract with Aforika Borwa Mining Solutions that expires at the end of the year, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the information is not public.

ABMS is linked to the Guptas’ holding company, Oakbay Investments. The company was notified of the decision earlier this month, one of the people said.

Ramaphosa: SARS 'rogue unit' report was 'grossly unfair' to Gordhan

The "rogue unit" report that KPMG produced on the SA Revenue Service was "grossly unfair" to former finance minister Pravin Gordhan which has led to undesirable consequences, said Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa on Thursday.

He was responding to questions in the National Assembly when Tim Brauteseth from the DA asked Ramaphosa if he would, on behalf of the South African government, apologise to Gordhan for the damage it had caused. He also wanted to know if the report would be released for public scrutiny.

Ramaphosa said he cannot apologise, as SARS falls under the jurisdiction of Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba, neither can he make a call on whether the report should be released publicly.
