Passion and faith have fuelled South African singer and songwriter Rowlene Bosman's drive to success in the music lane. At 26, the R&B songstress has caught the attention of soulful and even hip-hop lovers locally and internationally.

The down-to-earth musician made her debut in the music scene in 2015 when she released her first single, Imposter. The song, she said, kick-started her journey in the creative industry. It allowed her to discover and build relationships with artists, such as Nasty C, with whom she released the hits Phases and SMA, as well as the score for the SA Netflix original series Blood & Water, the late Riky Rick and Tellaman.

Rowlene defined her sound by saying that she felt the music needed to speak for itself before she even began to explain her intent while writing. About her latest project, Santa's Baby, the Cape-born star, who's a globetrotter, often found in LA and London studios with other artists and producers, seeks to captivate the audience through a range of genuine emotions that transcend age and time.

With each song conveying different experiences while still encapsulating the essence of the festive season, the three unique tracks project can be considered one of Rowlene's best works thus far. She adds that while this season is typically associated with joy and happiness, it often transforms into a period of emotional turmoil:

With this project, I was determined to remind myself that there are no boundaries to what I can achieve while staying true to my values. Christmas is a very special time for many people. Through my EP, even in the face of adversity, I wanted to remind the audience of the love, joy and goodness that comes with the holiday season.

She shares that fame and fortune are the last things she cares about and aims to create a bigger impact in the lives of others through her music, which she knows is her calling.
