This afternoon he is due to present the mid-term budget policy statement to Parliament in Cape Town. Here’s why his “mini budget” speech is so important: It’s been a hectic few weeks. The economy has tanked, he is facing fraud charges, and South Africa desperately needs to avoid a credit rating downgrade.
