Die-hard fans say why Nokia's the best

Cape Town - In the last sixteen years, he has only had one phone brand - Nokia, wrote Fin24 user Morris in response to a video article on the rocky ride for brand loyalists following the Nokia takeover by Microsoft.

Morris said his first cellphone in 1998 was a Nokia 5110. Since then he has upgraded to his current Nokia Lumia 625.

"Then it was just a phone, now it is a smartphone - my choice of phone makes sense since I am using MS Windows at home and work.

"The combination just fits well and the future looks very bright, because my kids won’t let go of the phone - kids’ corner is a king!"

Morris was not alone in his loyalty to Nokia. Fin24 received a string of emails from users declaring their die-hard support, with Johann stating he will "always recommend Nokia to everybody".

In the 15 years Johann has been connected, he has had only one problem with a Nokia phone - a software upgrade on his 3310.

His first phone was a Nokia 1610 and he is currently on a Lumia 510. "... My wife is using a BlackBerry and she is changing to Nokia next year."

Johann even has some advice for Nokia: "Keep up the good work and show the world that you are the best."

K Ingram said Nokia is "the most reliable, trustworthy cellphone and very user friendly".

"I currently have two Nokia cellphones and my third one was stolen during a house robbery recently."

For Themba Mogano Nokia "has been innovative from the word go with all the phones they've introduced".

"I've had so many Nokia phones - started with a Nokia 3310 to using a Nokia Lumia 1020 currently and it's AMAZING! The battery life, camera, software and the design - in fact the whole package just draws an image of innovation," wrote Mogano, adding hash tags #innovativeMinds #Nokia #Lumia #DieHardFan.

Kgwete described Nokia as "user friendly" and "once you get used to it you'll never want to change".

He admitted that recent devices have more problems and freezing issues, which is why he has held onto his N8, "the best device ever to be produced by Nokia".

His first Nokia was a 5110, then a 3310, 3330 and 6310i. "I then moved to the navigators and later to N8. Those that came after the N8 didn't impress me."

He has had his N8 since 2011 and "to date it's still impressing me".
