Cape Town - As social media expands, it is inevitable that it will grow into new and different areas. But furniture? Perhaps, an ISP has unveiled its tweet couch.
MWEB unveiled its Tweet couch to media at the Soccer World Cup game between Argentina and Switzerland.
Argentina won the game in extra time.
Social media has been highlighted with the global soccer showcase. Reports suggest that the game between Brazil and Chile broke the Twitter record with 16 million tweets sent during the match.
MWEB developed the tweet couch to demonstrate how online social media can be integrated into real-world products.
The couch works with a range of sensors that allow people to automatically tweet "#Laduuma!" or express their frustrations with refereeing decisions.
Tweets are shown on a display as well on social media linked to the technology. MWEB was careful to point out that the couch is not available for sale.
