'Gross' internet art seeks changing perspectives

Cape Town - An artist has published a series of illustrations on the internet that depict some of the controversial issues that dog modern society.

Artist Luis Quiles published his images on boredpanda.com and focused on topics such as sexism, homophobia, exploitation and violence.

The illustrations have been widely shared on social networks and unlike traditional political satirical comment, Quiles is not shy to tackle difficult topics with a wry sense of artistic expression.

He also targets corporations and the hold that many global firms have over the political debate in western democracies.

While the illustrations are insightful, they are not suitable for children or people with a sensitive nature.
