Johannesburg - A subsidiary of information and communication technology group Datatec [JSE:DTC], Logicalis Group, has acquired UK business intelligence consultancy Trovus.
Datatec is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) and the company’s website says it has annualised revenues of over $5bn with more than 7 500 employees and offices in over 50 countries.
Meanwhile, Logicalis Group is a provider of global IT solutions and managed services. Logicalis Group says it has a global workforce of around 3 700 and annualised revenues of $1.6bn from operations in Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia Pacific.
The Logicalis Group is subsequently acquiring the likes of Trovus’ analytics solutions that equip customers with access to business insights.
"This acquisition of Trovus supports our strategic goal of growing annuity revenue streams within the business,” said Jens Montanana, Datatec's chief executive officer, in a trade update statement on Wednesday.
“Trovus has highly specialised skills. The acquisition will strengthen Logicalis’ Business Analytics and Information Management offering to existing customers and open new doors in the information insights and big data markets," added Montanana.
The move to snap up Trovus follows on from Logicalis Group’s 100% acquisition of the issued share capital of German technology firm Inforsacom in December last year.
Datatec’s share price in Johannesburg was down just over 1% in trade on Wednesday morning to R62.10.
