Cape Town - Microsoft has announced that the Nokia Lumia 930 is available in SA.
The Windows Phone-powered smartphones features a 12.7cm (5 inch) display and elegant aluminium frame.
Like earlier models, the battery cover is non-removable though the company claims the 2 420mAh battery provides more than a full day of performance.
The Lumia is powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad core processor with 32GB of memory on board and 2GB of RAM.
Like the 1020, the Nokia device has been engineered for photography with a 20 megapixel PureView lens.

Users have manual options to create compelling shots rather than the typical Facebook-selfie-in-a-pub variety.
The Lumia is Microsoft's latest effort to drive market acceptance of the Windows Phone platform and the Nokia has some features going for it.
It has a built-in version of Office that will automatically sync with documents saved in the One Drive internet cloud.
Also, the navigation application Here Maps allows offline routing which saves on data.
In terms of colours, it's only available in black and white and costs R399 per month on Vodacom on a Smart S contract.
