Cape Town –Sony has entrenched its dominance at the top of the pile on the Orange online store which released quarterly sales figures this week.
The Sony Xperia M4 Aqua priced at R4 260 edged out previous leader the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, followed by the Motorola Moto E 4G.
The online platform has seen a significant spike in sales as the shopping season approaches.
“As we enter the holiday season, we expect a substantial increase in the number of purchases being made, from both our online and brick and mortar store,” said Blake Levitan, Orange Horizons South Africa country manager.
Orange typically sells devices for cheaper than established retailers in SA, but the company faces increasing competition.
Vodacom reduced the prepaid price of the Sony M4 Aqua to R4 649 and MTN offers the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact for R299 per month on a contract that includes 30GB of data.
