Johannesburg - South Africa's iStore announced on Friday that the Apple Watch Series 3 price will start at R5499, and is set to arrive in shops on 20 October. This the same day that Apple's new iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will make its debut in the country.
The iStore said that if purchased in conjunction with an iPhone 8 upgrade, customers qualify for a free extra Apple ‘Modern Buckle’ or ‘Leather Loop’ band for the Watch, valued between R3299 and R5399.
The iStore will also give a R1000 cash-back on trade ins or free extra bands when purchased in conjunction with the iPhone 8 upgrade
“With these offers iStore aims to cement its position as the best place for people to get their Apple Watch Series 3 in conjunction with the new iPhone 8”, said Chris Dodd, CEO of South Africa's iStore.
The offer is unique to iStore, and valid only for this year, while stocks last. Customers qualify for the offer for a month after purchasing their iPhone 8. Customers can pay cash, or opt to select a contract or make use of the iStore Card payment plan.
The Apple Watch Series 3 will feature cellular with Apple Music streaming, and allow users to make calls from their wrist.
On Thursday the iStore announced that sales of the new iPhone 8 would also commence on Friday October 20.
iStore has not yet announced the availability of the new iPhone X, which celebrates the 10th anniversary of the iPhone in South Africa.
Also the prices of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus in South Africa have yet to be officially revealed, after Apple launched the two phones alongside its 10-year anniversary iPhone X.
The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus promise to have the highest video capability available in a smartphone today. At the launch Apple said the iPhone 8 would retail from $699 and the 8 Plus from $799 in the US.
