Barcelona - Chinese giant Huawei has launched its latest flagship P10 and P10 Plus devices alongside the Huawei Watch 2, a day ahead of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
Huawei’s chief design officer, Joonsuh Kim, said that in the past the flagship ‘P’ device always had a masculine look and feel, and that aside from major upgrades to the device, the company was looking to encompass a fusion of art and technology in their latest device.

The devices are offered in eight different colours. Greenery has been included alongside Dazzling Blue, Rose Gold, Prestige Gold, Dazzling Gold Ceramic White, Mystic Silver and Graphite Black.
Kim added that the rear of the device had been designed with a high-polished surface that was textured to resist fingerprint smudges.
The P10 comes fitted with a 5-inch display 1080x1920 resolution while the slightly larger P10 Plus features a 5.5-inch display with a 2K resolution.
Under the hood, the device features the same Hisilicon Kirin 960 chipset as the P9 with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
For the first time, Huawei has also included their German-optics manufacted Leica Lens on the front for the device for better selfies.

The selfie camera also allows for more detailed images with editing features to create a digital depth of field.
But portrait photos have also been given more importance. Kim said that because 80% of photographs taken today were portraits, Huawei wanted the P10 device to be a pocket photo studio.
The P10’s rear 20+12 megapixel dual camera has been re-engineered offering sharper images, with the dual camera now able to capture a more natural depth of field and a wider aperture.
The standard P10 device features a 3200 mAh battery while the P10 Plus features a 3750 mAh battery.
The Chinese manufacturer also teased its new watch devices.

Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, said that major upgrades had been included in the devices.
“Every shot must be cover shot with Lieca Style Portraiture,” he said about the feature included in rear camera on the device.
The Watch 2 comes in two models - a 4G and a non-4G with the devices featuring GPS, heartrate monitoring and excercise tracking and other features. Meanwhile, it also able to play music without the need of carrying the smartphone along on a workout. The 4G model - which is able to hold a SIM card - allows the wearer to never miss a call.
The P10 and P10 Plus devices are expecetd to arrive in South Africa by the second quarter of 2017, with availablity of the Watch 2 yet to be announced.
MWC will take place from February 27 to March 2.
